Shape
Created in collaboration with Jeremy Smith (Hendaya). Slender outline. Fairing: shell at the front to facilitate take-off in hollow waves, ending in a double concave in the rear three-quarters of the board for greater maneuverability. Bevel-shaped rails for better water entry during changes of stance.
Construction
Laminated over a 30kg/m3 EPS core with epoxy resin and fiberglass. Top: 2 layers of 6oz, 1 layer of 4oz. Bottom: 1 layer of 6oz, 4oz fin box reinforcement. 5mm paulownia wood beam.
Advantages of EPS/EPOXY boards
We opted for this type of construction for our surfboards because it offers several advantages. Epoxy resin is more resistant to shocks and dents than polyester resin. The board will have greater responsiveness and will be able to generate more speed. EPS (expanded polystyrene) foam floats better, so with an equivalent volume, you will enjoy more buoyancy than with a polyester/polyurethane board.
Fins
For powerful waves and a height of +70 kg, the 2+1 setup with a 7″ single fin and 4″ side fins.
For smaller waves, single or twin setup. Twin setup ideal with Keel type fins.
